Knitting, Purling and Praying
Hands, particularly women’s hands, do many things. They make beds, do dishes, plant flowers, wipe noses, iron shirts, bandage scraped knees, pay bills, scrub floors, mark report cards, ring up sales, hit computer keys, bring home a paycheck. They also knit and purl and crochet, weaving care and compassion into each stitch. And folded, they compose part of a prayer.
Bring your hands and join us on April 11 and 25th – 10:00 a.m. – in the
Russel Room. We’ve got yarn, needles and patterns and plenty to bring into prayer.
Raising a Child of God: growing their faith at home
Workshop led by Rev. Susan Murtha
Tuesday, April 23
6:30 – 8:00 pm
We want, more than anything, for our children to know and experience the presence of God. We know that church life is essential to that, but how can we make faith come alive at home, in the everyday life of our family? In this workshop, we will talk about home-life rituals and traditions that are deeply nurturing to children’s faith, including those in daily life, the significant transitions in children’s lives as well as the major seasons of the church year. Please feel free to bring your friends and neighbors! Childcare will be available but please let us know if you’ll need that.
