A native of the Ozarks in Southwest Missouri, Zak is a recent but glad convert to the Northeast. After studying Politics and International Relations in college, Zak followed his call (and his wife) to Yale Divinity School, where they are both finishing their Master degrees. Zak and his wife are members of the Congregational Church of New Canaan, where he interned the past two years and transitioned from his Baptist heritage to the Congregationalist tradition. Part of Zak's call to ministry includes homiletical training, and he is in his second year of being a Raymond Preaching Fellow through the Congregational Church of New Canaan. As a part of the Raymond Fellowship, Zak travels throughout Connecticut as pulpit supply in local United Church of Christ (UCC) congregations. When not in the pulpit or the classroom, Zak and his wife enjoy board games, time with their cats, and every New England Patriots win.
