Childcare
Child care is available
each Sunday during the 10:00 a.m. worship service in our Baby
Nursery, Rooms 3 and 4 on the lower level of the Church. The Baby
Nursery, for newborns to children 3 years old, is open from 9:30
a.m. until 11:30 a.m. This gives ample time to settle your child
before worship and to enjoy a cup of coffee in Pilgrim Hall after
worship. Our silent paging system enables us to locate parents
if the need arises. Sue Griffin, our Nursery Caregiver, will welcome
you and your family and be able to answer any questions you may
have.
Childcare is also offered
during the summer months.
Child
Development Center
The Child Development Center
of the First Congregational Church seeks to provide quality early
care to young children between the ages of 12 weeks to 6 years
of age in a Christian environment. The center is accredited by
the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
CDC is committed to the
development of the "Whole Child," and provides a curriculum
that promotes each child's emotional, social, language, cognitive,
physical, and aesthetic growth. Because each child is unique with
special strengths and abilities they are offered the opportunity
to explore their world at their own pace, to ask questions, to
express their feelings and to be free to make choices
CDC recognizes parents
as their child's first teacher and the importance of parents and
teachers working together as partners to provide consistency for
each child.
Parents are encouraged
to participate in the program and are welcomed to visit at any
time and to act as volunteers in their child's classroom, on field
trips. etc. Throughout the year early learning workshops are provided
on-site, parent-teacher conferences occur 3 times a year as well
as a number of special events for all family members to participate
in.
The CDC phone number is 203-488-2007.
